• Exceptional image quality
  The 12.4 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, designed to produce very low noise at high levels of sensitivity (up to ISO6400), delivers high-resolution, rich-gradation images. The high-performance imaging engine suppresses noise while delivering high-contrast images rich in gradation and texture, even at the edges. Take advantage of the HDR (High Dynamic Range) function, which produces one composite photo from multiple images, to create beautiful, fine-detailed images free of overexposed highlights and blacked-out shadows.
• Upgraded AF performance
  With a new image sensor and an upgraded AF algorithm, the PENTAX Q10’s autofocus operation is much faster than previous models. An AF Assist Light optimizes focusing accuracy in the dark, while the Face Recognition AF function automatically detects up to 12 faces and pinpoints the focus on a main subject.
• Customized Quick-Dial
  Choose from a variety of creative modes, Smart Effect options, or camera settings to assign to the Q10’s Quick Dial located on the front of the camera. You can easily customize the setting or effect using the Quick Dial’s 4 positions, allowing you to concentrate on photography without having to explore the camera’s menu system.

  • Custom Image function
    The Custom Image function adds a distinctive finishing touch to an image. Choose from nine Custom Image modes, including Bleach Bypass, which produces a dramatic, movie-like finish.
  • Digital filter function
    The digital filter function lets you apply a variety of visual effects without requiring a computer. Of a total of 19 digital filters, 11 filters such as Toy Camera, Invert Colour and Posterization, can be applied during the shooting of still images and movie clips, while eight others can be applied only during playback. In playback, you can also apply different filters, one after another, to a single image to create more inventive visual effects.
  • Smart Effect function
    Using the Quick-Dial, you can quickly and effortlessly add a desired finishing touch to an image, while previewing the effect on the LCD monitor. Choose from nine Smart Effect modes, including Brilliant Colour, which provides a high-saturation finish, and Cross Process, with its dramatic unique-toned finish.
• High-quality, Full HD movie recording of extended movie clips
  Shoot high quality motion video with stunning full 1080p HD clarity at 30 frames per second. The Q10 efficiently processes the full HD video using high quality h.264 compression for superior colour and detail. You can also take advantage of the advanced image-processing tools like the Smart Effect modes and other in-body movie editing tools during movie shooting.
• Effortless Bokeh control
  Enjoy effortless bokeh control with the Q10’s bokeh control filter. Bokeh is the out of focus part of the background that helps to emphasize the subject, drawing the viewer’s eyes to the most important part of the photo. It assists the experienced and casual photographer alike by offering a fine degree of extra control over image bokeh via an in-camera filter operation.
• Sensor-Shift Shake Reduction for sharp, blur-free images
  The PENTAX Q10 incorporates the PENTAX-developed SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism, which automatically shifts the CMOS image sensor to offset camera shake detected by the camera’s motion sensor, producing sharp, blur-free images even under demanding conditions that are prone to camera shake.
• Simple, user-friendly Auto Picture and Scene modes
  The PENTAX Q10 features the PENTAX-original Auto Picture mode, which automatically selects the most appropriate shooting mode from such options as Portrait, Landscape and Macro for a given subject or scene, then optimizes all affecting parameters, such as shutter speed, aperture, white balance, saturation, contrast and sharpness. It also offers 21 Scene modes including Night Scene Portrait, Pet and Backlight Silhouette, allowing even an inexperienced digital photographer to choose the best exposure mode for a complicated scene with the simple choice of an icon on the LCD monitor.
• Dependable, flexible exposure system
  The PENTAX Q10’s comprehensive exposure system assures all the advantages and flexibility of a digital lens-interchangeable camera system. It offers a choice of four different exposure modes: the all-purpose Programmed AE (P) mode, which automatically selects an optimum combination of aperture and shutter speed; the Shutter-Priority AE (Tv) and Aperture-Priority AE (Av) modes, which allow the photographer to faithfully reproduce specific creative intentions on resulting images; and the Metered Manual (M) mode. Instantly switch from the P mode to the AV or TV mode with a simple turn of the rear electronic dial.
• 1/2000 to 30 Second Shutter Speeds
  Shutter speeds range from 1/2000 to 30 seconds, perfect for freezing fast action or capturing long nighttime exposures. Bulb mode adds flexibility for low light photography and motion effects.
• High-speed continuous shooting
  The PENTAX Q10’s high-speed continuous shooting mode allows you to record up to five images (in JPEG recording format) in a single sequence, at a maximum speed of approximately five images per second. This mode comes in handy when trying to capture the action of fast-moving subjects in a series of images.
• Dependable DRII mechanism for effective dust removal
  The PENTAX Q10’s DRII (Dust Removal II) mechanism effectively prevents annoying dust spots from spoiling captured images. It incorporates a highly effective supersonic vibration mechanism, which vibrates the image sensor at high speed to shake the dust off its surface.
• High-resolution, wide-view 3.0-inch colour LCD monitor
  Easily capture or review images and video using the Q10’s large 3.0-inch LCD monitor. The high quality LCD features HVGA resolution with 460,000 dots, as well as viewing angles up to 170 degrees horizontally and vertically.
• Built-in pop-up flash
  The PENTAX Q10 comes with a built-in auto flash (guide number 7 at ISO 200/m) that can be used either at the default position or the pop-up position with the press of a button to prevent vignetting with some lenses. Its wide coverage ensures even exposure for group shots (covers 28mm angle of view (in the 35mm format)).
• Q Mount Lens System
  The Q10 accepts the PENTAX Q-mount lens system for convenient interchangeability with a variety of specialty Q lenses. Choose from a selection of prime, zoom, fisheye lenses, and more to suit just about any photographic need.
