• Versatile 26X optical zoom lens offers focal-length coverage from 22.3mm ultra-wide angle to 580mm super telephoto (in the 35mm format). Coupled with the 1cm Macro mode, which allows you to capture dramatic close-up images of a subject from just one centimeter away, the X-5 ensures extreme flexibility for any scene or subject, near or far.
• The 16.0 effective megapixel back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, with its top sensitivity of ISO 6400, delivers remarkable high-sensitivity, low-noise characteristics and assures high-speed image data readout to deliver super-high-resolution images. The state-of-the-art imaging engine offers outstanding image-processing performance to produce clear, high-quality images with well-defined details.
• Large 3.0-inch, high-definition tilt-able LCD monitor with approximately 460,000 dots offers sharp image viewing and allows you to shoot from high and low angles and assures a quick, effortless review of recorded images and swift, setting changes.
• The 260,000 dot resolution electronic viewfinder provides effortless composition and comes in handy when shooting a subject in harsh backlight. Its diopter adjustment mechanism assures the clearest view of both subject and viewfinder display, while minimizing eye fatigue during extended shooting sessions.
• The X-5’s dual shake-reduction system couples the PENTAX-developed sensor-shift-type SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism with a digital SR mode. This hybrid system assures sharp, blur-free images even under demanding, shooting conditions prone to camera-shake, such as when using a telephoto lens, shooting with incident light only in poorly lit locations, or photographing sunset scenes.
• Capture full HD 1080p widescreen video at 30 FPS with high quality h.264 compression. Creative movie playback features, such as High-speed Movie mode for slow-motion playback and Time-lapse Movie mode for fast-forward playback are also available. A micro-HDMI terminal (Type D) allows you to play back beautiful high resolution images, video and sound to high definition devices using an optional HDMI Type D cable.
• The Quick-set mode dial allows you to quickly and effortlessly select the desired shooting mode with a single turn of the mode dial, without having to access the on-screen menu.
• The X-5’s Fast Face Detection technology quickly and automatically sees up to 32 faces, so portraits and group shots are bright and focused, even in backlit situations.
