Warranty Information for PENTAX Products
Standard PENTAX Manufacturer’s Warranty
Applies to:
- Compact Digital Cameras (ie. Optio W90, Optio I-10, X90)
- Electronic Flashes (ie. AF540FGZ, AF360FGZ, AF200FG)
- Medium Format Cameras (ie.645D,645NII, 67)
- Digital Interchangeable Lens System Cameras and Lenses (ie. PENTAX Q and Q Mount Lenses)
PENTAX products originally distributed by PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC., 1770 Argentia Road, Mississauga, ON L5N 3S7, have a limited one-year manufacturer’s warranty, starting from the date of purchase. This limited warranty covers any defects in original factory materials and workmanship. If your PENTAX product malfunctions due to such a defect within this one-year period, PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. will repair it at no charge. This warranty does not cover any damage caused to the product, including, but not limited to: impact, moisture, liquid, sand, excessive temperature, battery leakage, chemical corrosion, mishandling, operation contrary to operating instructions, tampering, modification, or servicing by an unauthorized person(s) or repair facility. PENTAX shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages, such as memory cards, batteries, travel expenses, loss of time, etc. This warranty only applies to PENTAX photographic equipment originally distributed in Canada by PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC., 1770 Argentia Road, Mississauga, ON L5N 3S7. This warranty applies to the original owner only and is non-transferable.
Exclusive PENTAX 2-Year Canadian Warranty
Applies to:
- Digital SLR Camera Bodies (ie. K-5, K-r)
- Digital and Autofocus 35 mm Lenses (ie.D-FA, DA, DA Limited, DA★, DA-L FA-J And FA series lenses)
This limited two-year warranty is composed of a one-year manufacturer’s warranty, as well as an additional 2nd year domestic warranty. This two-year warranty applies only to PENTAX products originally distributed by PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC., 1770 Argentia Road, Mississauga, ON L5N 3S7, and purchased within Canada from a PENTAX authorized dealer. This limited warranty covers any defects in original factory materials and workmanship. If your PENTAX product malfunctions due to such a defect within this two-year period, PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. will repair it at no charge. Sports Optics Warranty
From the original date of purchase, PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. provides a limited Canadian lifetime warranty for most* PENTAX Binoculars purchased within Canada from a PENTAX authorized dealer. This warranty covers the original owner and is not transferable. Routine external cleaning, normal cosmetic and mechanical wear and excessive wear due to professional use are not covered under the terms of this limited Canadian lifetime binocular warranty.
*Exceptions
- The PENTAX Jupiter binocular series include a limited one-year manufacturer’s warranty.
- PENTAX Spotting Scopes, Eyepieces, Zoom Binoculars and Monoculars include a limited five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Proof of Warranty Status
The dated proof of purchase receipt (bill of sale) must be provided to ensure warranty status. For PENTAX products purchased outside of Canada, a stamped international warranty card must also be provided.
If a dated proof of purchase receipt (and a stamped international warranty card if purchased outside of Canada) is not received with the product, a repair estimate will be issued.
International Warranty Repairs
Any PENTAX product purchased outside of Canada and sent to PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. or any of its Authorized Service Centres for International warranty repair will be subject to a $50.00 handling fee.
Please Note: PENTAX RICOH IMAGING CANADA INC. only services the Canadian market and will only receive and/or ship product within Canada.
