Optio RZ18 Features

Equipped with a high-performance, extra-powerful 18X optical zoom lens, covering focal lengths from 25mm ultra wide angle to 450mm super-telephoto (in the 35mm format), the Optio RZ18 can capture beautiful, pictures with a wide range of subjects and scenes — from spectacular landscapes to fast-action sports events. Macro focusing captures subjects as close as 4cm from the front of the lens.
The combination of the 16 megapixel sensor, high-performance smc PENTAX zoom lens and advanced image processing system, delivers high quality pictures and well-defined details. Even when images are enlarged, you are assured of brilliant, high-resolution prints with edge-to-edge sharpness.
Dual Shake Reduction technology combines Mechanical SR via CCD shift mechanism with Pixel Track SR to assure sharp, blur-free images even under demanding photographic conditions prone to camera shake, such as when using a telephoto lens or when shooting a sunset or indoor scene without flash.
The PENTAX-original Auto Picture mode automatically selects one of 16 shooting modes (including Blue Sky, Sunset and Pet) and optimizes various camera settings, including sensitivity and shutter speed, to assure beautiful and sharp pictures.
Capture beautiful, high-definition-TV-quality movie clips (1280 x 720 pixels). During movie recording, the sophisticated Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode helps prevents blurry images by digitally minimizing camera shake.
Face Detection AF & AE function detects up to 32 faces in the image field, then catches them in sharp focus and in optimum exposure in as little as 0.03 seconds. In addition to popular features such as the innovative Small Face filter, Smile Capture and Blink Detection, the Optio RZ18 can detect not only human faces, but also the faces of dogs and cats thanks to the Pet Detection function.
Large 3.0 inch, 460,000 dot LCD makes it easy to frame a subject for video or still image capture.
